Presentation of the Ile-de-France Chess League

The Ile-de-France Chess League was founded in 1925 under the law of July 1, 1901.

The IDF Chess League has been recognized as a Sports League since January 19, 2000. Its purpose is to promote, control and direct the practice of the Game of Chess in Ile-de-France. The IDF Chess League is affiliated to the French Chess Federation (F.F.E.).

In September 2015, the IDF League had more than 11,000 licensees grouped in 165 clubs.

It is administered by a Steering Committee of 10 members.
